The Longest Night of the Year! Winter Solstice 2024

On December 21 at approximately 10:19 the Winter Solstice will occur again. It is the shortest day of the year with about 6 hours and 32 minutes of ”day” or sunlight. This means roughly 17 hours and 28 minutes of ”night” or darkness.

The question is what to do with the short hours of day that we have, to be able to endure the coming, long and sometimes terrifying darkness? In the past in the Nordic countries it was believed that on this particular longest ”night of nights” there was an unusual amount of activity from beings and dangerous creatures of the more supernatural kind.

In the past in Sweden, around the year 800-1000, the Vikings dedicated themselves to the so-called ’Midvinterblot’, a midwinter feast, where they sacrificed food, grain, animals, people, tools and other things that they believed could ensure the return of the sun and the Light. In modern times, today’s pagans (or people with Old Norse beliefs) celebrate by offering fruit, berries, nuts and other food. Sacrificing animals or people has long since been removed from the celebrations, but with it not the very spirit of the feast. One wants to gain the favor of divine powers by sacrificing something to them.

By looking at the old (and more modern) pagan traditions of the Nordic folks and contrasting them with the Golden Dawn tradition (of which H∴O∴N∴A∴ is part of) you can examine whether you can find similarities and benefits from these.

The Golden Dawn tradition focuses primarily on purifying and refining the human being, his soul, psyche and body (i.e. microcosm) so that we can come into pure and unsullied contact with our innermost being, our ”God Spark”, or our highest and personal idea of God. We intend to ”become more than human”. In short, this means that you are no longer a slave to urges, desires and matter, but are guided and radiated by something ‘Higher’.

To be able to approach such a great work, one must first examine and get to know every little part of oneself. It is especially our mind (the conscious and unconscious) and our personality that require extra care and study.

This means that we examine what is bright and positive within us, but also what is experienced as dark and negative, because only by daring to meet and get to know your WHOLE ‘self’ does one gain an increased ability to change oneself.

It can of course be an extremely daunting task, especially when you reach and discover the dark sides of yourself, that you would rather forget and push away these deep within yourself. You need a great deal of courage and strength to venture into this meeting and once this happens, you need something to lean on, a support and guidance, so that such a meeting will lead to wisdom and refinement instead of confusion and a escape from oneself. Within our tradition, we call upon the Highest we know, the Divine Light (to name one of many definitions of it), within and without ourselves to allow this Light to guide us in our work with ourselves.

If we return to the Nordic Midwinter Blot and the Old Norse belief, one could compare the invocation of the Divine Light with the Midwinter Blot offerings for the returning Light. We can also compare the fear of facing oneself with the ancient fear of the dark beings and creatures that especially ravaged around during the night of the winter solstice.

What then becomes a possible lesson from this?

Through the midwinter sacrifice, i.e. the invocation of the Divine Light, through the promise of the return of the Sun, we gain strength and courage enough to dare to face and master the monsters (our fears) that ravage during the night of the Winter Solstice so that we will be able to welcome a new dawn, the return of the Sun and a hope for a better future.

With these musings the Hermetic Order of the Nascent Aurora wishes you all a happy Winter Solstice to come!

The Autumnal Equinox 2024 – a time for reflection, a time for faith in the future

This year, the autumnal equinox (in Sweden) occurs on September 22 at 2:43 p.m. When this post is written, the climax of the equinox is about 24 hours old.

Autumnal Equinox 2024

Within the Golden Dawn tradition, from which the Hermetic Order of the Nascent Aurora originates (via Alpha Omega), a particular importance and emphasis is placed on the Equinoxes. The equinoxes are, for lack of better words, balancing, equalizing and generally beneficial in their most mundane behavior. It is said that the ”flow” of the equinox takes place within 48 hours before the absolute focal point of the equinox and 48 hours afterwards.

It is natural that over the centuries the Order has designed and further developed a special ceremony for this occasion. Something to take with you and pass on through the Egregore of the Order and to its initiates. The very nature and details of this ceremony are of necessity accessible only to the crowd of initiates. Publicly, however, it can be said that the idea is to capture part of the essence of the Equinoxes and let this balanced and redemptive force work within the entire Order and its members.

So what does this text say to a reader who is esoterically interested, but perhaps uninitiated? Maybe not much. But if you take the time to read through more blog posts on this website about the equinoxes in particular, you might get a pretty good idea of what the equinoxes are said to represent on the physical or material level.

Normally, there would now be a text foreshadowing a period of gradually escalating contemplation over the year that has passed since the winter solstice, the spring equinox, the summer solstice and until now and that during this coming and dark period of this year one should meditate in silence on all that one has experienced and learned. An autumnal equinox (waiting for a winter solstice) is often synonymous with a period of reflection. This is so that during the darker and quieter months of the year, one can usurp an understanding and wisdom from the past six months.

This year, 2024, the focus is not only on the ability to be reflective of the past, but also the ability to be mindful of the future. The inspiration for this can be found in the two Greek words Epi-mètheus (reflection of past events) and Pro-mètheus (mindful of things to come). We SHOULD first contemplate what the past half year has given us (Epi-mètheus ) BUT this year the reader, enriched by this lesson, is advised to try to look ahead and see what the future may hold. Maybe there is something that you want to achieve in the coming year. Then it can be a good idea to be thoughtful and start planning for the coming period and make choices in everyday life that help you move towards the goal (Pro-mètheus).

That way we can be more prepared for the coming Winter Solstice and the return of the Sun King. Armed with the contemplation of our past experiences and with a future faith and way forward towards our goals we move closer and closer to a happier life!

With these words, The Hermetic Order of the Nascent Aurora wishes you a fruitful Autumnal Equinox!

Winter Solstice 2023

So the day has finally come (and gone) again when the winter solstice is here. In the midst of all the Christmas stress, it is easy for this scenic event to pass us by without any notice. However at the same time, you can start to see an increase of and attention to more holidays than just Christmas as Christianity celebrates it.

This increase is most easily seen through the social media of our time and thoughts about this are beginning to form in my mind. Through social media we get the chance to share our celebration and we get the opportunity to read how others celebrate this holiday. When I sit and read about how other people and traditions celebrate this period, I am struck by the similarity in the symbolism that is used. It lies just below the surface and is not particularly difficult to detect.

In the Christian tradition, this is symbolized by Christmas and the birth of Jesus, albeit on a different date (December 24). The Son of God (and thus God himself) is born. Within Dōngzhì, it is noted that Yin (the black, feminine part of Yin & Yang) is waning in strength and Yang (the white, masculine part) begins its increasing journey. In the Old Norse Midwinter Blot, it was/is customary to make sacrifices to Odin so that the coming year’s harvest would be rich. In the Egyptian celebration, you could pay tribute to Hathor-Sekmet or some other lion goddess combination and the journey of the ”wandering eye” throughout the year.

It doesn’t really matter if you celebrate the Christian Christmas, the more pagan Jòl/Yule, Saturnalia, Old Norse Midwinter, the Egyptian festivals or the Chinese (Taoism) Dōngzhì. What all these traditions have in common is that they want to symbolically demonstrate that the time of increasing darkness is over, that the increase of light is beginning and a hope that the coming period will be successful.

In addition to the similarity in the symbolism of all these traditions, it strikes me that all of us, regardless of tradition or cultural origin, actually have a WILL and a NEED to somehow mark and celebrate that the Light is increasing. All life on our earth is dependent on the Sun and at each winter solstice we all celebrate, worship and pay tribute to this celestial body in our own way. This to me is proof that we humans are still connected to and dependent on the sun, nature and the changing of the seasons.

Despite all our high technology, our nice houses made of steel and concrete, electric cars, computers and maybe(?) our denial, we are still children of the sun and part of nature. There is something so beautiful, magical and divine about this.

With these words, the Hermetic Order of the Nascent Aurora wishes you all a wonderful Winter Solstice!

Thoughts during the Autumnal Equinox 2023

During Saturday, September 23rd, this year 2023 the autumnal equinox occurred and now follows a time of increasing darkness and stillness…

It is surprisingly easy to sink into the digital world. Social media, google, blogs, podcasts have become a natural part of most people’s lives. A universe of information and virtual interaction is available just a click away. Retrieving information has never been easier. Likewise, it has never been easier to mistake, or prefer, this ”universe” for reality, real life.

Of course it can be nice to sink into another world for a while, but to confuse it with real life is a big mistake, all to easy to commit. You forget to live, to experience things for real, or IRL to use a modern expression, and in this way you get no real experiences, no lasting impressions that involves all of our senses.

In our day and age, especially online and social media, there is a lot of misinformation. Anyone can post (with a few exceptions) anything without this information being reviewed. You can even publish your own book on any subject without any major problems, and it doesn’t have to be based on any facts or long experience.

If we direct our gaze towards the occult arena, one notices very quickly and is struck by how much incorrect knowledge is being spread. People have taken some weekend course, or followed some blog and then try to create their own courses, books or podcasts. The worst thing is that they have no idea how ignorant they are, how much they have misinterpreted. They teach wrongly, create their own systems for lack of a deeper understanding of the tradition from which they drew ”inspiration” and think they know better than their predecessors.

The Golden Dawn tradition is no exception! Self-proclaimed ”masters” appear every now and then who, at best, have a couple of years of self-study behind them. These often have a ”own version” that they proclaim to be a new and improved wisdom.

If you want to make an occult analogy of or equivalent to the digital world, you have to turn to the Astral World. The astral world is not called the Treasury of Illusions by chance. This is because most of what you usually come into contact with are precisely illusions. Illusions about knowledge, beings, the divine and about oneself. Maybe especially about oneself. It requires guidance from something higher than the ego in order to succeed in finding the little gold nuggets that are in the astral mire.

As a comparison, it takes just as much discernment to find quality information on the internet and social media.

Nothing that has been written so far in this post has anything to do with the Autumnal Equinox itself. It has only served to be a long introduction to a short and seemingly simple encouragement:

If you happen to follow a tradition like the Golden Dawn (whether you are lucky enough to be initiated by a temple or if you try your best to learn on your own) and if you are honest with yourself in your desire to grow as human, magician and spiritual being. Take a break from all the blogs, podcasts, social media and self-proclaimed ”teachers” who try, with conflicting arguments, to tell you how to practice your art. What you should do instead is follow what your particular tradition (and temple) is trying to convey to you. Temporarily see this knowledge as the only one for you and for God’s sake practice this knowledge and quietly contemplate what ”gifts” this gives you.

So learn from the stillness of the season, the waning of the sun, and give yourself the gift of digital darkness for a while. Take care, ponder and practice your tradition untainted by the thousands of different opinions of the virtual world and you shall see that this darkness will show you a glimpse of the light!

The Vernal Equinox 2023

This year’s traditional Vernal Equinox post has been slightly delayed. Partly because of a high workload, but at the same time also because of a much-needed reflection on life. This year, the vernal equinox (in Sweden) occurred on Monday, March 20 at 10:24 p.m.

Normally, an Equinox gives us a sense of well-being and, in a sense, an end, an equilibrium, and a beginning of something new. If you are used to paying attention to the equinoxes through ceremonies, meditation or similar tasks, you usually notice changes in everyday life, mood and also in the world in a very direct way. Of course, this also happened this time.

One can quietly ask whether the increasing presence of the Sun King also brings with it a gradual thawing of the coldness and passivity that exists in the outside world and our minds? Perhaps we are entering a time of warmth and activity where the soul comes back to life closely followed by the desire and will to do something new, to change something in one’s everyday life and the world?

During the Equinoxes, if we are lucky, we get a glimpse of equilibrium, a small moment where we stop and have the ability to look both forward and backward but also inward. We make a kind of reckoning with ourselves and the worldly events around us.

Springtime is here now! The last snow is melting away and the crocuses are starting to peek out. Maybe it’s time to follow the crocuses and dare to raise your head and gaze towards the sun. Illuminate your whole being, your personality, your choices or non-choices. Have you lived as you wished, or could you have done it in a better way for yourself and for the world around you? One thing is certain and that is that not much will actually happen if you only allow yourself to remain in your reflection without acting.

With these few words, the Hermetic Order of the Nascent Aurora wishes you all a lovely and belated Vernal Equinox!

Contemplation on the Summer Solstice 2022

This year on March Day, or Tuesday the 21st of June, it is the Summer Solstice again! The solstice is a nature’s reflection of the Sun God in its strength. The God who was born at the winter solstice has reached its full power throughout the year. The solstice also coincides close to the transition to the zodiac sign Cancer, which in its nature (among other things) is homely and preservative and strangely enough victorious.

In mundane life, this apparently means nothing special except that summer is here and for many even holidays. In the inner life, or the non-mundane world of spirits and images, the summer solstice can have a much greater value, an alchemical one. By using mythology, symbolism and allegories, we can produce a map and a way forward, towards something. But only by first going backwards, that is, retrospectively. In this case, we have to go back to the Winter Solstice 2021. When the Winter Solstice is near, you are given an opportunity to get rid of (or change) parts of yourself, parts that you no longer want to carry with you when they inhibit, or simply has ceased to be useful for, the spiritual development of the individual. At the same time, you want to consolidate and mark the parts of your personality and being that you want to preserve and refine through the slow heating from the sun.

When the Summer Solstice is here and the life-giving power of the Sun God reaches its climax, it enriches our whole being. We also get to know how well we have succeeded with our spiritual process and through the preservative properties of Cancer, this ”alchemical elixir”, illuminated by the Sun at its peak of the year, will define us until the next Winter Solstice when the process begins again. This can be compared to what alchemy calls circulation. The aim is that with each circulation we will have developed further and upwards in our process, so that these circulations can be seen as a spiral. It is your being that stands in the middle of the spiral and if you could look at this spiral from above, the symbol for the Sun is formed.

Hopefully these words have made you curious about how you can refine yourself until the next Summer Solstice. Something to perhaps reflect on when this solstice and summer are over and while the nights get longer and darker again?

The Hermetic Order of the Nascent Aurora wishes everyone a pleasant Summer Solstice, wherever on earth you are!

The Vernal Equinox 2022

It has been a couple of days since the Spring Equinox, but the feeling and hope lingers. Like the tired wanderer who has been traveling for a long time and the longing for home has grown strong. The hope and longing that the homecoming will be full of joy, and that everything will be exactly as it was before, burns like the Hermit’s lantern.

After a long pandemic, which is not quite over yet, and a terrible war in Europe, there are probably many who feel overwhelmed, perhaps even exhausted in body and soul. Many hope that everything will return to the way it was before the war, before the pandemic.

Maybe it’s so that with the Light of the Spring Equinox comes a turning point. Maybe that Light puts an end to the gloomy period that has been with all of us for a few years now? Maybe we can finally return to the point where the world felt normal and ordinary again?

If we return to the tired wanderer again and for a time, we will probably discover that once you get home, everything seems to be the same, at least on the surface. But in reality, everything has changed. Nothing is really as it was before even if your eyes testify to it at first sight. A world, or country or place is never quite the same as it was when you once left it. In fact, the biggest reason for this is that you yourself are no longer the same person you were when the journey began. Because of this, or perhaps the luck of it, there is no going back. The hermit’s lantern will not show us the way back to our old home, our old world. The task of the lantern is to show us and cast a light on the ashes of the world that has been, but also in the next moment show us the possibility of a new world, a new home or perhaps a path out of the ashes. A path straight through what already has been and to something new.

The Light that this equinox brings with it, like the light of the Hermit’s lantern, is a new hope. A hope for a way forward to a new world, a world not created by hands but by our hearts and minds, our hope and our desires and in that world anything we want and wish for can happen.

With these words, we wish you all a very good Vernal Equinox!

The Winter Solstice of 2021

At the time of this writing, there are just one week left until this year’s Winter Solstice. It has been and is a time of Darkness, but also a time of waiting for the Return of the King. After December 21, 2021, the Sun is reborn again and the days slowly but surely become longer and the nights shorter. This is not something new or surprising. It has always been, and will always remain so. At least for an eternity or two.

It is perfectly normal and addictive to look forward to the new year, brighter times, warmer days. We humans are often afraid of or dislike the darkness, the cold and the silence. This year’s Winter Solstice Oration will, however, be about just this darkness, this cold and this silence. There are 7 days left before everything ”starts” again, 7 days that can be valuable. I want to invite all of you who have found and read this post to use these days for something special, something maybe different than what you usually do. I would like to suggest that you take advantage of the darkness and the silence that is around you instead of just longing for brighter and more vibrant days. In the light and the active life (which of course is fantastic) we are given many opportunities but less often time to reflect on what is within us, displaced in favor of all activity. Rarely can we hear what our inner being is trying to tell us as its voice is often overpowered by all other sounds and activity..

Use these last days of darkness to try to listen to your inner self and above all try to listen to the sides of yourself that you may not really want or have had ”time” to listen to. Find out how you feel and what parts of yourself that you no longer want to affect your life in a destructive direction. Find out and clarify for yourself which of your behaviors, habits and attitudes that you have and that you do not want to carry with you when the time comes for the King’s (Sun) rebirth. Change, refine or burn them and something new will emerge from the ashes. Also find out what hopes and desires you have and want to realize when the Sun will once again take its throne. And when the time comes for the Winter Solstice, light a candle and remember the hopes you have for the new year.

With these words, I wish you readers a nice Winter Solstice!

Academic services & disservices

Over the past decade, the Western Mystery Tradition has become more recognized as a subject to study and research on an academic level. In Sweden, there is a flora of courses connected to different esoteric currents. You can take a basic course in religion, get better understanding of the modern witch movement, Gnostic texts, hermetic subjects or basically anything. One can even study obscure grimoires, magical systems and alchemical processes.

In the early 2000s, it was a little bit different, there was simply not as wide a range of, or sufficient tolerance for an academic study of different or dissident spiritual traditions beyond the exoteric religion. If you wanted to study something other than the major world religions, you would have to have a very good reason for this, at least if you wanted to keep some form of credibility within the academic world. But times are changing and now the great academic progress is being made in the mapping of spiritual traditions, dating and geographical origin of ancient documents and analyzes of occult sciences and their alleged function and historical significance.

Academic progress is, of course, both interesting and an asset for esoteric practitioners outside of academia. Documents that were previously assumed to be missing or incomprehensible can suddenly see the light of day when some professor has managed to find a old book or manuscript in an old, dusty library and also managed to decipher it. This is happening all the time nowadays and often both pictures and explanatory texts are posted directly online. Everything has become very easily accessible to us.

This is of course fantastic… or is it really that and for everyone?

There is a risk that we as active practitioners and part of a living tradition will only be subject to our own or others’ academic ambitions and reviews. Academic studies present a picture of what has been (or can be) established through evidence. In principle, organic or subjective experiences and experiences are almost never included. Personal experiences is in many ways outside the academic world. The purely personal experience and the experiences created through it have been replaced with cold logic, objective evidence and intellectualizing explanatory models. This is, of course, in many cases a strength as even outside oneself and one’s own opinion one can agree on certain ”truths”. That you can objectively examine the tradition of which you are a part and even learn something new. The danger lies in the individual practitioner’s discernment. As a practitioner, it is important to be able to distinguish between objective and subjective views, but even more important is the ability to know WHEN to shift between the two different views.

The tradition that our Order embodies is based on a model where the member gradually becomes aware of the spiritual side of life and the world and how to approach it. This is done partly through theoretical knowledge but above all through practical grade initiations whose effect leads to a personal and spiritual experience. This highly personal experience runs the great risk of being shattered by an excessive intellectual focus. In the attempt to understand and objectively prove what you have experienced, you analyze the whole thing to the point of breaking. What remains is a cold and, in the worst case, halted spiritual process.

So how should one look at esoteric teachings and the academic studies of these? It is, of course, about finding a balance between personal experiences and objective truths. As an initiate, you should stay on the path that does not turn off to the right or left, between the Pillars, so to speak. How to succeed in this is up to yourself to discover, but first you have to find the path… and learn not to confuse the Map with Reality.

This year’s Autumn Equinox is here and as a final word we want to ask you dear readers whether you want to go out into nature this time to really experience all the changes of the season or if you would rather read scientific essays that explain why the forest trees shed their leaves?

The wheel of the year and the restrained knowledge

Soon the time has come for the Vernal Equinox of 2021. On the 20:th of March 2021 (in Sweden), the earth’s orbit around the sun has taken us here again. What once stood at the beginning of its growth, has blossomed and spread during the summer, rotted to nourish the soil in the autumn and laid to rest during the winter and, so to speak, paved the way for what is to come.

From the Sol Invictus (ie the Winter Solstice) in late 2020, the Sun King once again began to regain his throne piece by piece in order to create enough light and heat at the Spring Equinox on 20:th of March 2021 for nature to start growing again. However, there is still a long way to go before the seeds that have just become buds will come to full bloom to enrich nature again.

What then does this have to do with what we in this case call ”the restrained knowledge” and why do we choose that parable right now?

To explain this, we beg to answer the latter question. Recently, especially through various social media, podcasts and blogs, criticism has been directed toward Orders and societies who is considered to possess the so-called “secret material” or “hidden knowledge”. By secret material is meant documents, writings, study materials, books, teachings, etc. that have not yet been made public and published for the general public. The critics usually accuse the Orders to withhold important knowledge that should be published or doubt the possession of such knowledge. Furthermore, these people want to claim that the only reason why there has even been secret knowledge is that one could previously be oppressed if it was discovered that one possessed a certain knowledge. Today, it is considered by critics that such a measure is completely superfluous and that the only reason for knowledge to be withheld now is the potential, financial gain and legitimacy that may exist in possessing this material.

H∴O∴G∴M+R∴ wants to respond to this criticism by an explanatory analogy. However, we first want to confirm the criticism. It is not without merit. There are plenty of orders, companies, associations, people who claim to possess secret knowledge and these charge well for this ”knowledge”. Not infrequently, it becomes something out of a personal cult and in the end quite miserable conditions. There are many who, in the hope of increasing control over their circumstances, have lost their capital, the ability to think critically and the ability to decide over their own lives. Often there has never been any ”secret knowledge”, only the egocentric or financial motives of a person or group. So far, the critics are right. It is also true that one aspect of keeping secret or withholding material is the risk of repression. In most countries of the world today, this is an unnecessary precaution.

However, there are other aspects that justify the retention of unpublished material. We will not go into all of these aspects here but limit ourselves to one of them.

H∴O∴G∴M+R∴ holds esoteric material that is unpublished. We have chosen to follow our predecessors in not making these into public material for what we consider to be a good reason. One of the absolute biggest reasons for this can be compared to the Sun’s apparent orbit around the earth, its equinoxes and solstice and how nature is affected by this. Imagine a seed or sprout, either on a tree or in the ground, that has the ability to grow strong and bloom. This may seem simple but the fact is that it is only under the right conditions that this can happen! If the seed is exposed to too fast or strong heat, it can become bad harvest or completely destroyed. It is through the slow warming of the earth and nature that the opportunity for growth exists. Of course, there is vegetation that can withstand a faster heating, but it is far from everything in the plant kingdom that has that ability. If too much heat were to be added, the balance of nature would be disturbed.

Now compare and equate the Sun with Knowledge and the Vegetation with The Occult Student. We see that every human being has a spark of divinity within him, a seed. When the student first gets the esoteric knowledge revealed to him (the Winter Solstice), everything is in its infancy. Through a slow heating, ie through a reasonable amount of given knowledge and which slowly increases, the student is given time to grow stronger and stronger. At the vernal equinox (ie when the student has come a little bit on the way and have learned basic knowledge), the seed has begun to grow and peeks out of the ground, but is still sensitive to heat. Since esoteric knowledge often needs to be experienced practically as well as contemplatively to be truly understood, it requires time (just like a seed in the earth). If there is too much knowledge and too soon, the student may become overwhelmed or lack the required pre-understanding, you simply learn wrong. It is also the case that our tradition is based on gradual initiations and these ceremonial ”markings” often give many, deep impressions. The candidate often undergoes (through introspection) a process of self-degradation and construction and it takes time (and sometimes support) to get through this with a good and healthy result.

This is accompanied by theoretical knowledge that is presented in the form of the grade material. This knowledge is intended to create an understanding of the process and a further development that only comes into its own right if you have gone through certain previous ”steps”. It is precisely this material that in the wrong hands and at the wrong time in the initiation process (if the recipient of this material has even undergone any esoteric initiation) can be more harmful than useful. If this happens, you can at best have the opportunity to, so to speak, ”rewind the tape” and start again from the point where your understanding is. In the worst case, the student is caught in the illusion that he ”understands everything” and when he then wants to spread this misconception, the effects can be devastating for its recipients. The sun’s rays have thus been applied incorrectly.

We as heirs and bearers of a Western mystery tradition have made promises to always use the wisdom we have acquired for good purposes. To not disclose the unpublished documents we hold for the uninitiated mass. We are not prepared to take on the ”karmic guilt” of negligent distribution of material. Our ambition is to, like the wheel of the year, allow the divine seeds that exist to grow strong during a slow but steady heating. Like a Golden Dawn starting a new day and a new life.

With these words, we wish you all a happy Vernal Equinox!
