Autumnal Equinox 2018

The Hermetic Order of the Nascent Aurora has, according to a very old and unbroken line of Hermetic and Rosicrucian tradition, always highly respected the vernal and autumnal equinoxes and their respective flows. Spring and Autumn equinoxes, together with Winter and Summer Solstice, give us an opportunity to follow the Sun or Sun God’s journey through the year, but also the expanding Darkness.

This year, the Autumnal equinox takes place, in the Nordic region, at 3:45 pm on 23/9, which means the center of the Sun passes the sky equator on the way south. On a material level, this means that the day and the night are equally long, but that immediately after the equilibrium the darkness grows stronger and the light becomes weaker at the same rate. The sun is slowly preparing to die while the dark is spreading, with the sole purpose of creating space for the new to  come. At the Winter Solstice, ”the Sun God” is reborn, which will enrich the coming year with growing power. In these coming times of material darkness, it may be worth remembering that, although Darkness and the cold will prevail, it is only because the Light and the heat undergo a transformation, or rebirth to something different from what was previously. Each Light or Life cannot exist without darkness and emptiness or death, as these are necessarily a prerequisite for the Light and the new to emerge, just as the night is a preparation for the coming dawn. Our time in darkness is thus not of evil, but rather a necessity. It is a waiting filled with hope and assurance that the Light will once again shine and life will grow. The darkness is really the same as the light and without this darkness and void the creation would not have the opportunity to exist!

Let us us all according to the ancient tradition, together, or at a distance, welcome the powers of the autumn equinox!

Höstdagjämningen 2018

Den Hermetiska Orden av den Gryende Morgonrodnaden har, enligt en väldigt gammal och obruten linje av Hermetisk och Rosenkorsisk tradition, alltid högaktat dagjämningarna och deras respektive flöden. Vår- och Höstdagjämningen, tillsammans med Vinter- och Sommarsolståndet, ger oss en möjlighet att följa Solens eller Solgudens resa genom året, men även Mörkrets tillväxt och tillbakagång.

I år sker Höstdagjämningen i Norden ca klockan 03:45 den 23/9 vilket innebär Solens centrum passerar himmelsekvatorn på väg söderut. På ett materiellt plan innebär detta att dagen och natten är lika långa, men att strax efter Dagjämningen så växer sig mörkret sig starkare och ljuset blir i samma takt svagare. Solen förbereder sig långsamt för att dö medan mörkret breder ut sig, med endast i syfte för att skapa plats för det nya som kommer. På Vintersolståndet ”återföds” Solguden som med växande kraft skall berika det kommande året.

I dessa kommande tider av materiellt mörker så kan det vara värt att komma ihåg att, även om Mörkret och kylan kommer att råda så är det endast för att Ljuset och värmen genomgår en transformation, eller återfödelse till något annorlunda från vad som tidigare var. Varje sig Ljus eller Liv kan existera utan mörker och tomhet eller död, då dessa av nödvändighet är en förutsättning för Ljuset och det nya som skall växa fram, precis som natten är en förberedelse för den kommande gryningen. Vår tid i mörker är alltså inte av ondo, utan snarare en nödvändig en stilla väntan fylld med hopp och försäkran om att Ljuset återigen ska skina och Livet ska växa. Mörkret är egentligen detsamma som Ljuset och utan detta mörker och tomrum så skulle skapelsen inte ha möjlighet att existera!
