This year, the Summer Solstice will take place on 21:st of June, on Jupiter’s Day and close to the transition to the Zodiacal Sign of Cancer. The sun is a nature’s reflection of the God of Light in its strength. The God, born on the Winter Solstice, has achieved his full power throughout the year. The days have grown longer and hotter while the nights are shorter and less cold. It is symbolic of the increasing light and darkness decreasing. Potent, life-giving and fruitful. It is also the longest day of the year. In the Nordic countries, we celebrate this day as one of the highlights of the year and life. We are pleased to be alive and we thank the Divine manifestation of the Sun as it is the source of all life. We also carry with us and know that the power of the Sun God decreases the day after that, and that the darkness grows slowly but surely stronger until the winter solstice when the Light is born again, increasing each day in strength and again will be lifegiving.
The Hermetic Order of the Nascent Aurora wishes everyone a nice summer solstice, where ever you are!
